Checking freeBDM for that sort of time frame the only Edward Cook to marry in Islington was in 1877 a possible spouse Mary Ann Garbett.

I was cross-checking this information and found on ancestry.com, the exact photo of Mary Garbett that I have at home.  (I never knew her last name.)

Hi again this is the 1861:-

Charles Cook 51 occ Coal Porter now born St Mary Le Strand
Eliza 46
Elizabeth 20
John 16 occ Drover
James 12
Rosamond 8
Edward 6
George Channel 9 months Grandson b St Mary Le Strand
Residing at 3, Holwell Place Pancras middx
Census Ref RG09/112/81/67

All others now born St Pancras!

Any chance the James on the 1861 census is the same James as the 1881 Census? There is a James Cook who is a drover, however his birth is listed as 1851 and the James from 1861 census calculates to a birth of 1849.

Strange that the birthdate changed, but at least that helps in my research. In the end, all roads seem to answer the question about another thread that I posted - "Brown/Cook married 1st cousins."

James' daughter, Elizabeth Cook married a Brown, and their daughter then married Edward's son, Edward.

Thanks!

Hi Unclepyro, it's  been a long time since we corresponded but I've been looking at this again recently. I hadn't noticed before that my Thomas and your John Turner were on the same page as some of the Carter family living in a nearby household.  Could your John Turner have been  nephew of Thomas Rassell's wife Maria Carter?

Maybe you've solved this connection in the years since 2010, I'd be fascinated to know ☺
