I got the name from the newspapers on Findmypast
The Western Morning News 20 February 1896 has a report of a meeting by Mrs. Barney of the Prison Door and Jail Mission U.S.A. for the opening of the Plymouth Door of Hope New Refuge.
There are about 30 articles referring to the Refuge

From the Western Evening Herald 27 March 1916
"DOOR OF HOPE" REFUGE. The annual meeting of the `Door of Hope" Refuge. Hampton-street, Plymouth, was held at Erme House  Mutley to-day, Dr. C. A. Hingston presiding. The annual report showed that 68 cases. had been succoured during the year.
