Church look-up Wilson
« on: Sunday 03 October 10 16:23 BST (UK) »
Hi
I'm having trouble finding verification on William Wilson. According to Canadian Census 1861, he was b abt 1820, B'ness, Scotland. Family members have b. 26 Nov 1820.  He m.  Catherine Robertson in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada (from family). I found him in 1841 Scotland Census. The address was Jinkabout Mills. Are there any parish records to view.  The Canadian Census list his religion as Methodist.
I hope someone can help.

Hi
Thanks for the responce.  I did find William ch 1820, Bo,Ness.  I didn't find any sibling, where did you find them?  Thanks for the parents, I did have them wrong in my program.  Don't know how I miss that, it was right there in Family search.  I'm starting the process looking for William and Julia (nee Smith) Wilson.
Thanks again

I just wanted to send a message, thanks for your help.  I rechecked family search and found what I needed.  Parents and children.   But I do have one question..  Is there a site that I can search online death dates for my Wilson family in Lothian, Scotland?
Thanks

Hi Pearlsing,
The only problem with the IGI is the church do not recognise death so they list very few deaths.
I think the only option is to use the pay as you view site scotlandspeople,
cheers,
Billy.

Did you see the marriage for the couple: July 23 1811, Bo'Ness, West Lothian? Hope that you do have the money one day to complete your tree...

That was the marriage date for William Wilson/Julia Smith
Sorry I hit post by mistake I guess as I was adding more... meant to put IGI as well...Other Wilson marriages in same batch file around same decade David, James, Alexander, Henry, Thomas & Robert. These couples are also parents in the same batch file as some of the children. Some might one day connect as siblings of William senior's
Between marriage 1811 and christening 1823 is a great deal of time, so imagine others missing from the list of children...

On the http://search.labs.familysearch.org site William Wilson's birth didn't come up every time due to the glitch, so in case it never came up the way you were searching it was Nov 3 1820...and the births of siblings come up on that site as well...
