Shepherd occupation & burials in Westminster
« on: Sunday 10 October 10 12:26 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to directories for Westminster between 1780-1820. I have a little family Anthony & Elizabeth Shepherd bn 1737 with sons John Alsop Shepherd1774 - 1841, Anthony bn 1775 & William Loxley Shepherd bn 1777. Would love to know what any of them did for a living. Also, have failed to find a burial for any of them, even though I know John was living in Marsham St in 1841 & asked to be buried at St Margaret's, he is not there.  Are there death announcements in papers for the parents or brothers? Have just had a flying visit to the archives found their baptisms, but little else.

You stars! Thank you both so much. Interesting that he was only 26 when the partnership was dissolved, I wonder what he did afterwards. I shall try to order a copy of the will as I am sure it must be him - there did not seem to be many Shepherd surnames in St. Margaret's parish registers, & he was the only Anthony I came across. Thank you again, you have saved me hours of searching.
