Church to Garner Marriage

This may be  long shot but i am trying to locate a marriage between a Mr Church to Miss Garner.

I am trying to find out the parents of William Richard Church born Poplar 1923.

I know his mothers maiden name was Garner and have other children starting 1918 also in poplar.

I cannot locate a marriage of a Church to Garner around this time.

Can anyone help.  I am sorry but this is all info i have.  I have requested the birth certificate but would like to get on before this arrives if possible.
