Henry Ferrier of Limehouse Middlesex
« on: Monday 11 October 10 19:25 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone!

I'm  looking for the parents of Henry Ferrier born 1818 - 1820 in Limehouse Middlesex. He joined the East India Company and married a Elizabeth Maria Conquest in India and had six children to her. She died in the early 1860's and he returned to England as a widow. Henry passes away in 1876.

On the 1871 census record he can be found living in Chelsea (I think  this is the case I'll include the record) with his son Edward Ferrier and Henry C Ferrier. Edward later moved to Scotland. Henry's daughter Louisa Rachel Ferrier was married at 16 in India and moves to York with a Samuel Whincup. Another daughter I know of a Janet Ferrier becomes Janet Scott after getting married to a Robert Scott in India.

I'd really love to know Henry's parents, can anyone help me with this?

Thanks!

Here is the record:

Name:     Henry Ferrier 51
Head of Household
Born Limehouse, Middlesex
Living in Christchurch parish Chelsea London

Wonder if this is them

St Anne Limehouse baptism
1818 Aug 23, Henry, s/o James & Jane FARRIER, Limehouse, Labourer, born 1817 Dec 16

1818 Jan 21, Elizabeth, d/o ditto, born 1812 Mar 5
1818 Jan 21, Alice, d/o ditto, born 1815 Aug 29

One of Henry and Elizabeth's daughters in India was Alice

There is a marriage for an Alice FERRIER 20 May 1836 to Thomas YOUNG at St Leonards Shoreditch. One of the witnesses is a James FERRIER, with very scrawly handwriting, so could be her father.
