any help please tracing Dominick Joseph Raftery arrived NY 27th July 1914 SS Baltic, Born circa 1876 Castlerea, Co Roscommon heading for his sister Mrs. Hater? in Pittsfield Mass. Thanks

The record is at www.ellisisland.org for Dominick Joseph Raftery- you should be able to view both pages of the passenger manifest to get details of nearest relative in U.K., etc.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Margaret M Raftery 29 Born Ireland. Immigrated 1913. Alien
Joseph F Raftery 3 yrs 10 mths Born Mass
Margaret M Raftery 2 Born Mass


Marriage of Dominick Raftery Age 33 years to Margaret Noonan Age 24 years on 11 Dec (can't see a year mentioned  ???)

Thanks again I've seen the manifest showing him aged 30 and single, probably widower aged 40. his brother patrick in Castlerea is the unnamed next of kin. i'm interested in where he goes after this. john

Have you got the parents names for Dominick, Mary, Kate and Bridget  ???
Would this one belong to your family  ???

Found a Bridget Raftery born 23 Nov 1878 Cloonelt, Kilkeevan Parish, Roscommon.
Married to a Daniel F McKinnon 25 dec 1907 Boston. Suffolk. Massachusetts.
Bridget's father was Patrick Raftery an Mother Bridget Burn.
Bridget died 16th July 1926 and buried 18th July 1926 at Holy Cross Cem, Malden, Massachusetts.

OR a Boston Passenger list for a Michael Raftery (Aged 20) and a Bridget Raftery Aged 18 with a father John Raftery. Castlerea. Roscommon. Both travelling 23 May 1912 on the SS Laconia

Hi Sandra, thanks for the help. I have their parents names they are andrew Raftery and Honor or honoria (nee White) of Termon more (Tarmon) Castlerea Co. Roscommon, father was a farmer, and one of the sisters became a nun and lived in the US until her death in the 60's possibly in Atlanta Georgia. father on 1901 irish census not on 1911. Dominick J's marriage, next page says 1915 and mothers name Hanora father Andrew. Thanks again John
