SUICIDE in ACTON 1898. HENRY HOPPER
« on: Wednesday 13 October 10 18:25 BST (UK) »
I am seeking help in trying to obtain more information on HENRY (Harry) HOPPER  (born in Lewes 1866) who committed suicide by jumping under a train at Old Oak Farm, Acton on 5 April 1898.
There is one newspaper entry but it doesn't reveal much.
I can find no coroners record.
He actually lived in Eastbourne and was a baker (and possibly bookmaker). His wife, for just two years was Emily Elizabeth (nee Rainbird). Emily was remarried to Albert Smith in Lewes. Henry and Emily had one son together named William Henry Hopper born 1897.
My G Grandmother, an actress  (Lilian Kate Kingsbury nee Wiseman) who lived in Acton for most of her life had a son named Cecil Harry Hopper Wiseman. I believe Henry Hopper was his father.
Other linking names are ADAMS, THOMAS, ROBINSON, SPEED and CLEMENTS.
