Ada Hood
« on: Saturday 16 October 10 20:43 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Ada was born sept q 1859 west ham. Parents William and Jessie. They appear on 1861 census with her sister Kate Jessie b 1857. Both parents die prior to 1871 census. Ada is found in 1871 (born Leyton) but no trace of Kate Jessie. Kate Jessie marries Alfred Filer in 1876 and Ada is a witness. After that all I can find is Kate in the 1881 census. So what happened to Ada after 1876 and Kate in 1871, 1891 onwards. Any help welcome.

John

1861 shows Kate b Leyton Essex but 1881 shows her b London

1876 marriage cert shows Alfred Filer as a "gentleman" under occupation and Kate is living with her mother in law in Islington in 1881 who is shown as owning "land and houses" so the family appear to have been monied

Freebmd has 4 Filer births in Islington between 1881 -1886

1881 - Thomas Francis - died Islington 1963
1883  - Alfred - different father - marriage cert for 1910 seen
1885 - William George - baptism found - different parents
1886 - Lavinia - died 1886

I suspect emigration
