atkinson/gleeson family
« on: Saturday 16 October 10 22:42 BST (UK) »
can anyone please help me to trace my family tree back in Tipperary? I know that my Great Grandad Henry Atkinson was born on 19th October 1876 in Templemore, Tipperary and his parents were James Atkinson and Mary Gleeson.  Any help in tracing their marriage and/or their births would be gratefully recieved.  Good luck and God bless you in your family tree research. If I can assist anyone following the Atkinson family tree over in Manchester, England, I will be pleased to help in any way I can.  Again, God bless you all, Agi.

do you already have the details on Henry's siblings, also born Tipperary ?
(several are included on the extracted records on familysearch between 1872 and 1878)

I dont see a marriage for James & Mary in Tipperary at the moment...

Births for James and Mary would be before the start of Civil Registration , so you would need to research parish record for details on them - see : Introduction to Irish Records

p.s. what's James occupation on Henry's birth cert ?

Hi Shane, Thank you very much for your response to my appeal for help. I got Henry Atkinson's Dad's name James off Henry's wedding certificate.  I have a lds film number for Henry's birth certificate from Familysearch.com, but I don't know how to apply for a copy of this or any other certificate from Ireland. Could you or anyone else please help me or advise me on this.
Once again, thanks Shane, you're a gem. God bless and good luck to you and yours.
I'm now going to check family search to see if I can find other siblings. Cheers mate, Agi.

Hi again Shane, Thank you very much for taking the time to reply again and for the new information. I'm still quite new to computers and family history, especially tracing people in Ireland, so any help is very appreciated.
I have now found Henry Atkinson's siblings on Family Search and I'm now going to go through the new information again and will let you know how I get on. All the best to you and yours. God bless, Agi.
