Marriage of Nancy Marett
« on: Tuesday 19 October 10 21:31 BST (UK) »
Could anyone please help me find the details of the marriage of my great, great grantparents Henry Simmonds and Nancy Marett. Nancy Marett was born in St. Saviour Jersey in 1812/13, so I would assume that the marriage took place in Jersey, between 1828-1836. Henry Simmonds was soldier and that is all the information I have regarding him.  I  feel that he may well have come from England, as their first two children were born there, one baptism took place in Chatham. The last two children were born in Jersey. Nancy was a widow by 1851 and living in St.Saviour.

Thanks Pauline

Hp Pauline

I've had a look through all the Parish marriages and can't see a marriage for Nancy Marett to Henry Simmonds. I can see a NM marriage to someone else but this would make her too young!!

Incidentally Nancy's baptism date is 20th Sep 1812.

Hi,

Welcome to Rootschat.

I am not sure if you have this, so I may well post it.

On son Henrys baptism in 1837 at St. Marys Chatham it states that his father was a Corporal in the Rifle Brigade.
