1891 and 1901 census look up please
« on: Wednesday 20 October 10 12:50 BST (UK) »
Could someone please try and find George Williamson c1851 and his wife Ann c 1857 in the 1891 and 1901 censuses.
George may have been a Salmon Fisher.

Their children could be Alexander c1880, Peter c1882, John c1885, Annie c1888, Maggie c1889, Elis c1891, Maxfield c1893, William c 1894.

They could be living in Elm Cottage, Mosstodloch.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Betty

Sorry I don't see an obvious entry for Peter.

Brilliant, thanks for finding both censuses for me.

I am not sure about the Alexander one.  It would be nice to have an Athlete in the family!!

I will look into that further.

Thanks again

Betty

Moddtodlock

That will be Mosstodloch. I presume it was an Ancestry mistranscription.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Stiulhpeffer

Another classic Ancestry mistranscription? Should be Strathpeffer.

Hi Forfarian

Thanks for taking the time to point out the transcription errors.

Hi Betty,

Have erased your email address, just to let you know I have been back uo Clunyhill Cemetery and had a right look round with a friend but no sign off a grave for Provest Bain but will keep looking and will be in touch if I find anything
