Wow! Trevor that is amazing, i cant thank you enough . This is exactly what Ive been looking for. Something that shows what life was like in those days, a true insight of how our relatives lived.
I would never have looked at the Old Bailey records as i thought it dealt with major crimes. I did find it amusing too, all that commotion for a shirt, and for that poor young woman to end up in prison for three months.
Can you imagine the police today having the time to investigate a shirt stolen off a washing line! We live in such a different world now. You know finding a record like this (even though i didn't find it) makes all the hours trailing through long lists very worth while. Thankyou again ...Jan

Hi ronnie this looks really promising, but i cant seem to get onto the record, it just comes back that the page cannot be found. Can you tell me how you found this record. It could be a link to Ireland at last! Thanks for your help ronnie...jan

Hi ronnie , thankyou for pointing me in the right direction. I have sent for the discharge papers for Barth Maloney, I'm just too curious not to. Its the first time i have used the national archives ,it is going to take up to 10 days to give me an estimate, so i hope after the long wait its the right person.  Every thing regarding the dates seems right. Ill let you know how i get on ,regards...jan

Hi Jan

Yes I know the feeling  I would have to do the same thing too  ;D

I often end up with things that dont apply to me because curiosity got the better of me .
Good Luck ...... its lovely to have stories to go with your tree
isn't it?  I loved the case regarding the shirt I could really picture the scene ;D ;D

hi ronnie Yes i am on a roll at the moment, with the help of yourself and trevor! So much has happend this week,I'm buzzing! I cant understand why i haven't seen this record on e
ancestry,  i have put that name in so many times, anyway im going to have a look at it  .Bartholomew died in the workhouse in Romford ,so maybe Johanna was still in there or might have stayed in the area.  Thankyou again...jan :)
