Phillip Peach - Census help
« on: Wednesday 27 October 10 07:00 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am having no luck locating my ancestor Phillip (or Philip) Peach in the 1841 or 1851 census.  Here is the information I do know:

Phillip Peach born approx 1774 (no idea of whereabouts as yet)
Married Elizabeth Daily, July 1793, Ashover, Derbyshire
Died 1854, Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Children
Lucy Ann Peach b. 1802 Ticknall, Derbyshire
William Peach b. 1803 Dethwick, Derbyshire
Joseph Peach b. 1805, Dethwick, Derbyshire
Phillip Peach b. 1805, Dethwick, Derbyshire

If anyone has any suggestions or can locate them I'd be very appreciative.

thanks
Lisa :-)

Hi Lisa,

I haven't found Philip on the censuses but I have found some children who were born in Ashover to a Philip & Elizabeth.  Some of them seem to be the same children as those on your list and who also show up in various places as being born in Dethwick [I realise they are virtually the same place] but there are a few differences which may be useful to you.

Jesse Peach baptised 16 March 1800, Ashover.
Ann Peach baptised July 1802, Ashover.  Buried 5 July 1802, Ashover.
William Peach born 13 May 1803, baptised 1803, Ashover.
Joseph Peach born & baptised 6 April 1805 [twin], Ashover
Phillip Peach born & baptised 6 April 1805 [twin], Ashover
Ann Peach baptised 15 June 1806, Ashover.
Harriott Peach born 18 May 1809, baptised 25 June 1809, Ashover.

I can't find reference to Lucy Ann anywhere.

I assume you have the death certificate for Philip and are absolutely sure the date of 1854 refers to him?
