Anyone recognise this house?

Thank you David, Redroger and Sallyduk for your suggestions.  I tried to look at Whirlowdale Road on Google streetview but the computer didn't like it, so I'll try again later.

Sallyduk, that house certainly looks very similar - where is Dore?

I can't believe that I might be getting closer to finding it, with all your help, it's great!

I had a look on Streetview, the problem is, there are so many trees etc that you can't see a lot of the houses, also most of them have been extended/modified/rendered etc.

Dore used to be a village in Derbyshire, but has now been swallowed up by the Sheffield suburbs, it lies to the west of Whirlowdale Road.  Look for Dore Road on Streetview, it's around there.

Sally,Definitely of the same era; problem is though that hundreds were built in this style between WW1 and 2, with thousands of semis in a similar style. With variations they are all over the UK

Hi all, I've had a look again on Streetview but the trees get in the way.  I suppose this style of house was very popular so could well be anywhere, I knew it was a long shot.  I'm afraid I can't see any sign of a child at the upstairs window.  When you zoom in, it actually looks like it could be a mirror on a dressing table inside the room.  Something reflective anyway, but not a person sadly.

Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it!  Maybe one day some other clue will come to light.
