trying to trace ancesters from Tempo
« on: Saturday 10 March 07 10:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi Could anyone help to find the marriage of

Patrick Collins and Annie Conner's.

I don't know when they were married but they had a son again called Patrick Joseph who was born in Enniskillen on 09/08/1891 cert no YB9/225 or could be a V instead of Y.
I know that they also had a daughter called Bridget who was older than Patrick.
Sorry that is all the info I have so as you can see I am in need of help,

Thanking you in anticipation

Hi Choco

I take a look in the database--no Annie Conner being married to a Patrick Collins but there was a Mary Ann Clarke.

If they were Catholics, this would be a problematic as you have to know which parish they were married in. Some Irish did not register their marriages with the Civil Register Office.

Since you know where their son was born, it may be to your advantage to find which parish he was born in--it may lead you to the church he was baptised in and possibly a marriage record for his parents.

Hope this is of a bit help!

Kind regards,

Tees

Hi Tees,

Thank you for your helpand taking the time to look.

Yes they were Catholics so maybe that is the problem. At least I can try finding out where the son was born.

Thanks again

Hi Choco,

You are more than welcome!

Could you give us a bit more details off his birth certificate?

It may help other Rootschatters to help you out! Hopefully, someone from Enniskillan would spot the address or know the general location--they may be able to narrow down which churches his parents may had gotten married in or their son being baptised in.

By the way, the certificate number meant nothing to us.

Cheers,

Tees

Hi again Tees,

The only info on the birth cert is Patrick Joseph Collins
09/08/1891
Registrar's district of Tempo.
Patrick Joseph is the son of Patrick and Annie

I have also found a certificate of baptism for Annie McCallom
DOB 26/02/1893
Parish of Tempo
Parents Patrick McCollom and Annie Connors
Sponsors Patrick Doran and Ian Connors.

I believe that this was their daughter who only lived for a year.
Somewhere along the line the name has changed to Collins and they had moved to live in England by the 1901 Census.

There are several children Bridget, James, Kate, Patrick and Mary all born in Ireland. Also John who was born in Fleetwood Lancs. All called Collins

Sorry but that is all the info I have

I am trying to trace ancestors of Patrick Collins who was married to Annie Conners.
I have info on their children but am trying to find out when Patrick and Annie married and who their parents were.
I also would like to know if their daughter Bridget's birth is recorded anywhere.
I have D. O. B. for all the other children but not Bridget. She would of been born around 1884.
All their children except for the youngest son John were born in Tempo

I know that the family were living in Fleetwood Lancs England on the 1901 Census. I would be grateful if anyone has any info on the family while they were living in Ireland.

If it is any help Their son Patrick Joseph D O B 09/08/1891 marries Norah Spillane in County Cork on20/07/1918

Sorry I don't have much for you to go on but any help would be appreciated.

Hello Pat,

It's possible that some of the members of www.enniskillen.com aren't RootsChatters.

It might be an idea to have a look at that site too.
