Hi Maryanne, I checked Ancestry.com using all variables you indicate for names/ages in Ontonagon County Michigan and came up with nothing.  Any other info or clues to try?  Your info on their location is very specific --  where did this info come from, if I might ask?   In Ancestry's database, it's easy to see 1910 & 1930 info as well but nothing jumped out at me there either.  Would be happy to try again if you have any ideas.

A kind person found the family in 1900 and 1910.

At the same time Elizabeth's niece was living in the same area. She was called Ethel and her husband Thomas H B. Their surname was Yelland. Children were called Roy and Verna.
Roy was born in 1905 and Verna in 1909.The children were born in Michigan but the parents came from England.

I believe that Ethel may have moved to Philadelphia.
As to Thomas and Elizabeth I have no idea where any of the family eventually lived.

Maryanne, I looked extensively using parents & children's name in Mich, Penn, other states.  Also all Elizabeth & Daniel Collins born in England  --  Nothing!!
I found Ethel/Thomas H.B, Yelland in 1910 in Ontonagon but no Collins' in their household, as neighbors or otherwise near by.
Perhaps they were in transit during census times??
If you think of anything else to check, let me know.
Good luck!

Thank-you Kathy for looking. It is a shame that they can't be found. As you say maybe they were in transit.
Perhaps at some point a descendant of either family will be in contact with me.

Hi Maryanne

I've been looking too - wonder if they came back to England??I did find this - a couple of years off and no mention of England - it's a long shot but you never know!!! in this game we play sometimes you have to take chances ..... !

Name:       Thomas Collins
SSN:       365-07-1672
Last Residence:       South Carolina
Born:       1 Dec 1876
Died:       Feb 1963
State (Year) SSN issued:       Michigan (Before 1951 ) :P :P

I found them in 1900 and 1910 too - but no 1920 - I thought perhaps they might have split up -  I found a couple of Thomas' as boarders but nobody else!

I did find another family in Michigan -  Thomas and Elizabeth Collins
but they were both 48 - English -  date of entry 1900 -  but the kids  were Glenna age 16 Hendel? age 14 and William age 11
could be relatives but not your family - sorry
I'll certainly keep my eyes open......

Regards
Annie
