I am trying to find out more about my family history. I am in Australia but my great Aunt is Lily Mernin and Piaras Beaslai is my Godfather. I have some knowledge about them but would love to hear from anyone who knows more?, Thanks...Emer

Yes the famous Piaras Beaslai/ Lily Mernin ones are my family. They are deceased...Piaras in 1965 just after I was born...I believe my family had routes in Waterford

The 1901 and 1911 census are both online and you can search for your family there to star with- birth counties are listed which might help you find them in civil registration index, etc. See  Introduction to Irish Records topic-

I am looking for more information on my family. I believe the Mernin family has routes in Waterford. I know my great Aunt...Lily Mernin...had a sister (my grandmother) whose name was Mary Josephine Mernin. My father, John (Sean) Maguire was told she died giving birth to him, but we are not sure if this is true. I would be appreciative of any information, or assistance, I am in Australia
