Any idea where she was heading?  East Coast, West Coast?  Halifax, Montreal, Vancouver?   Somewhere in between?

Jennifer.

Hi,

I had a quick look at the Ancestry immigration files for Canada, I couldn't find anything for Jessie or Earl Dunn, and the 1930 and 1940 census records won't be made public for a long time.  Maybe someone else has some tricks they can suggest for looking at this relatively recent period.

Do you know anything about where they departed from, or why?

Jennifer.

There are Dunn's in the current phone book. Try that

plus the local library may have newspaper items about the family.

Good hunting.

I can find Attestation papers for an Earl Francis Dunn, born April 27, 1897 in Bracebridge, Ontario, RC religion, next of kin was his mother, Annie.

The 2 pages can be viewed here:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/001042-100.01-e.php

Do you know their birthplaces and approximate years of birth?  Do you know when and where they married?

Is it possible that he could have been a Canadian and they met while he was overseas?
