At the top of the Australian board is a listing of resources for each state.

Perhaps if you were to have a browse yourself through the bdm sites available, it may be a start.

If a particular WINCKLE name caught your eye, the Australian chatters might search in more detail. :D

hi

thanks for that - not feeling as confident about it now as keep coming across marriages in the UK - wonder if my source got it wrong!

from online searches you can do, so far I got no results in Queensland, NSW or Western Australia

"16 possible matches on 1 page"  returned on the Victoria online search facility

none of the others appear to have online search facility available

I think I'll leave this one on hold for now as I'm not clear who or if or when they were suppose to leave these shores

best wishes,
Ian.

Ian,

WW2 Roll has 4 Winckle men who joined up in Victoria.

http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/

The Queensland schools index has Winckles at various schools in Queensland between 1952 & 1983.  I can give you these if you are interested.

The NSW BDM has a few Winckle surmames for death registrations and a few marriages.

The Australian National Archives has a Winckle family coming in assisted by air in 1971.
