Tranter, 1860, Dudley area
« on: Wednesday 03 November 10 20:07 GMT (UK) »
Is anyone in a position to check the mircofilm of Amblecote, Holy Trinity, 2nd quarter, for the marriage of Pamela Clee and John Tranter.
I believe John should be aged abt 23, son of George. I believe Pamela should be abt 26 - parents unknown, and I cant find a Pamela Clee in earlier census - maybe this is a second marriage - but I cant find in the indexes a 'Clee' marrying a 'Pamela'

Also after their marriage - cant find them in 1861 census - although I have all the following ones.

Any help appreciated
Tweedie, Garnett,  Smith - !!!, Fearnley,
Bennetts, Waterhouse, Horobin, Tranter

I can't find a Pamela who fits either.  Did find a Pee family in Dudley 1851.  After checking the image, the Pee looks like it could be Clee, there is a Pamela, but she was born 1849!!

Nice one Jim
BMD has marriage in Q3/1853
Searched DMD death index 1856 +/- 5yrs -
Henry Dudley 1853/Q2 - a bit previous!!
and Henry Arthur Klee, Worcester, Q3/1859

Searched West Mids index for Death - nothing obvious here either
Marriage to Tranter is Q2/1860

Need to check the film images for both the Pamela Vlee/Tranter marriage and the
Pamela hadem/Clee marriage to check her parentage.

I think I might have solved the puzzle – although confirmation would be nice

George Tranter ( father of the said John who’s wife I am puzzling over) married a second time
His second wife is Ann (nee Mees)
This is also Ann Mees 2nd marriage.
Her first marriage was to  John Haden

John Haden and his wife Anne Mees had a family, one of whom is Pamela Haden
Pamela Haden marries Henry Cley and then  later marries  her step-brother  John Tranter

Although I cant find the death of Henry Cley!!

Have you thought he may not have died, and they split up, I think if I can remember if they were separated for about  7 years they could remarry legally.
