Henry Gardner Born abt 1801  Gloucestershire, England Died Dec Qtr 1870 Stroud, Gloucestershire, England

Married Eliza Bird in 1819, Stroud, Gloucestershire, England.

Known Children:

George GARDNER Born abt 1821 Kingstanley,  Gloucestershire, England
Alfred    GARDNER Born abt 1827 Kingstanley,  Gloucestershire, England

I haven't been able to track him down successfully from the 1861 census to 1841 as I think the children that I know about haven't really helped.

Oh dear  

I see the marriage you quote came from the IGI and is a submitted entry which means that it cannot be trusted because parts or all of it could be a fairytale. 

I note that there are submitted entries for George and Alfred in the IGI but it gives Stroud not Kingstanley.  Something amiss it seems.

You really need somebody to check the Stroud PR's to try to verify all the details.

Thanks for your reply, to be honest it's a source given to me by another researcher, Had given me an email from way back and it matched with an oral source from a relative.

I have the 1861 census reference for George Gardner, he is my ancestor I've just had trouble tracking down his father Henry on the census. To be honest I hadn't gotten to checking the source for his marriage.

Hi All,

Found a few baptism references. Sourced from beta.familysearch.org.

They appear to make things even more confusing. The twins were George's kids Alfred & a sister sorry for the confusion. Nothing seems to make sense.
