Passenger James Dunnett Cook - Help Please!
« on: Monday 08 November 10 21:35 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone had any information on the passenger lists to Australia from England.

I have been told by my Grandmother that her grandfather left for Australia before she was born.  From the census information I can tell he left between 1901 and 1911.

His name was James Dunnett Cook born in Caston, Norfolk around 1837.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Terri

I don't suppose you have their ages?

My James Cook was born about 1837 so he would be really old if he did go over.

Many thanks

On your other thread the death of James Dunnett Cook was found in England in 1910, so if he did go he came back.

Perhaps it was another family member who went to Australia.

Well my Grandmother has been in contact with people in Australia who are decended from his brothers.  And they have said that he went over with the brothers.

I think I am going to ask for their email addresses and email them myselves for the full story.  I believe he did die in Swaffham in 1910.  But all my family are saying that isn't true....

Plus there is no actual evidence of him ever leaving England...

Thank you so much for your help!

Terri
