The fire referred to is probably the one in the Public Records Office at the Four Courts in Dublin during the Civil War in 1922.

This destroyed many early census details, and Church of Ireland records. Catholic records were not deposited in the PRO so were not effected.

Maybe we will discover the information at sometime? I would love to go to Clonmel

Maureen, I think we must be first cousins x goodness knows how many generations :)
I would also love to visit Clonmel.....
If I find out any info of interest Maureen, I will post it on this Board. I know there are quite a few people eager to find out more :)

Dear Katerina and Maureen,

I am also a descendant of Thomas Tinsley McNeill through his son John (1848-1914) and grandson Joseph Patrick (1884-1941).  I would be very interested in getting in touch and have some limited information about Thomas' parents.
