Crook - German

Is there anyone down in Devon who has a connection between the Crook family and the German family?  I have a John Jarmain Crook in my list and the earliest connection I can make (assuming it is a proper connection) is a German Crook baptised in 1641 in Knowstone, Devon.  His father was Richard, mother not known yet.
He apparently married a Sarah ( ?? ) and had two (known) children - Richard and Robert. 
Any help, however small, will be greatly appreciated.    Thanks,  Joan
