looking for anything on a elizabeth laverie born about 1850-1 in ayrshire  i think she married john owens from ireland,

Do you have details of her parents from her marriage cert?  The 1861 only has one b 1852 Newton Stewart Wigtownshire

There is no 1851, 1861 or 1871 with an Ayrshire birthplace

Looking at that thread - there is no clear indication of who was on the 1881 census or where they were living at that time

There is also no indication of where the birthplace of Ayrshire came from for Elizabeth

If you have a look at the previous topic- Elizabeth's birthplace listed as Ayrshire and Scotland in 1901 and 1911.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I think the reference to the 1881 English census is misleading.  I think what is meant is the IGI as there is an entry in 1876 for son Thomas - mother Elizabeth Laverie

However, son Samuel's entry on the Pilot site shows her as Lavery

I have searched under Eliz** Lav** from 1851-1871 but with the info now provided - she was probably married by 1871 as son Samuel was b 1871/2

All children were born in Ireland which suggests they may have married in Ireland
