Hi Every-one,

Would any-one know how to pull up the Death/Obituary Notice of a William "Guest" Burford, who died on or near the 20th November 1994 in Canberra.

BURFORD, William Guest (Bill), died Canberra 20 NOvember 1994, age 57, Devonport Cemetery, Anglican section DVO1/0192

The record then says  - 'see also'.......
Myra Ellen BURFORD died 19 March, 1953, aged 47, Devonport Cemetery, Anglican section DVO1/0192

There is no explanation of any relationship between them.  There are other BURFORDs at Devonport also.

There are these burials at Woden cemetery (suburb of Canberra) which may be of interest.

Hi Judith,

Thank-you for your reply. For your information, Myra Ellen Burford - nee Chapman, is William Guests'  birth mother. His father, Robert Burford, re-married a Phyllis Vincent, presumably after Myra had died.

Mary Ellen, is his grand-mother, she married a William Pascoe Burford, so I don't know if William George Pascoe, is one of the same.

William Guest Burford married a Joyce *, don't know her maiden name, [if any-one knows please let me know]. Sometime down the track, I hope to find out a bit more about the family, as they are one of the missing links, within my family tree.

Are there two Mary Ellen BURFORDs as the index entry for the will of William Pascoe BURFORD shows his death as 1927, aged 66 ?

Hi Judith,

To my knowledge there is only one Mary Ellen Burford, in my tree at least. However, I note that you have her maiden name as Evans, when in actual fact mine is Davies. I have no knowledge of any part of my Burford  family coming from N.S.W., ie; Broken Hill.

My family tree entry handed down to me stated William Pascoe Burford died in 1983, and there was nothing to confirm otherwise. Tasmanian wills identifies a William Pascoe Burford dying in 1927, but you can't download the file for some reason, so it's hard to prove  prove that it is the same William. That's what surprised me when you mentioned a William George  Burford, and I thought where did this name crop up. There is definitely a mix-up some-where, probably on my part.

It gets a bit confusing when Mary Ellen Davies, who married a supposedly William Pascoe Buford, and Myra Ellen, who married Robert Burford are very similar in spelling of their names, [ie; Myra & Mary].

I'm sorry I can't be any clearer, in my interpretation.

Hi Judith,

Me again. Just found out looking thru a TAMIOT Death Index, that William Pascoe Burford, is buried at Campbell Town Cemetery in Tasmania. William Pascoe Burford did in fact die, on the 17th March 1927, at the age of 66. Still don't know when and where  Mary Ellen died.

That eliminates William George Burford & Mary Ellen Evans, from the theory. I was way out with my prediction. [Sorry for any inconvenience].

Hi Leanne,

Thank-you for your reply. It is the William Pascoe Burford on my tree, I didn't have that information. However, I am still looking for information on my original post, that of William Guest Burford, [the Grandson of William Pascoe Burford], Obituary Notice, who died in Canberra in 1994. Somehow It got off-track, but was I gratefull to receive the information I got.

I think a lot of people have spent enough time on this post already, and perhaps they could use their time on more important issues. I thank every one for their help.

The William Guest Burford  was my brother  his father is ROB  not Robert  and  his mother was Myra Ellen BURFORD
