John Curtis b c1894 at North Seaton - COMPLETE THANKS

My wife's great great uncle, John Curtis, was born at North Seaton c1894; his parents were George and Mary Jane (MS Gall). 

Pte John Curtis was a member of the 20th (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers.  He enlisted at Newcastle, indicating that he was born at North Seaton.  He died on 5 Jun 1917 and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.

I'm trying to find out if they are one and the same although I'm not sure where to look for English DC details on-line (I can find my Scottish war dead easily enough!)

Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Or confirm/deny that 'my' John Curtis is the same man commemorated at Arras?

North Shields library and Carlisle library have a copy of the fantastic book the Northumberland fusiliers,I managed to have one sent to my local library a year ago ,maybe you can do the same,
I cant remember the exact name for the book or author but I am sure some clever person will know this on here ,it was paperback but very informative ,with lots of lists of honours ,deaths etc,a good read for anyone with ancestors in the Northumberland fusiliers,

I've just found that 'my' John Curtis was at Morpeth for the 1911 Census.

 Are you sure he was "at " Morpeth in the 1911 census.  Did you extract his exact house address from the census.

 North Seaton, Ashington, etc, lay within the census Enumeration District Of Morpeth.

Am I right to assume to assume you got your info from the "general" index that was " free" and only gave name age and enumeration district ( and not John within a family group, at a specific house address together with birth places and occupations) ?

 Going on from Gillian's info about book/s, John Sheen wrote two "sister" books about the "Tyneside Scottish" and the "Tyneside Irish" battalions of the Northumberland Fusiliers in WW1.  These books listr many of the ment who enlisted, place of enlistment, and some's home addresses  and lots more.

These books are held extensively in the archives and larger libraries in the north east of England. I have a copy of the Tyneside Irish" book.
