Many thanks that is great now i have read somewhere that John had a brother Job who married a Mary COWLEY were they sisters and were they children of William and Elizabeth COWLEY That would complete the picture perfectly. I have found Job And Mary Balderson on the 1871 census which has her birth place as Willoughby but earlier censuses have her born in Northamptonshire

Hi,
Yes John had a brother Job who married Mary Cowley on 9 Sep 1832 in Cold Ashby, she died Sep 1884 and was buried on 28 Sep 1884 in Cold Ashby, they had 3 children, Elizabeth, Joseph and William. I'm afraid I don't know if Mary and Keturah were sisters or who their parents were, my family are the Baldersons.

Sandy

Many thanks for your help its taken us on  nicely. I now don;t think Mary has any thing to do with the Willoughby COWLEY family just a big coincidence Mary seems to be b Cold Ashby on all censuses
