Jane Butler b1815 Antrim

The first of know of this Jane is when she arrived in Australia (Port Phillip/Melbourne) on the ship Argyle 1 March 1841.  Her Aus marraige certificate says she married Joseph Nathan Tovey but does not list their parents.

She came out to Australia as a single woman without family on the same ship.

Her death certificate confirms her birth in Antrim Northern Ireland.

I would like to trace Jane's family in Ireland.  Is any body able to find a birth cert for Jane or anything about mother, family, siblings I would appreciate it.

Unfortunately civil registration of births in Ireland started in 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for Jane, etc. To find church records you'd need to know both the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland) but many church records for early 1800s simply don't exist.
