McBeath's a rare name in Ireland. When the Valuations took place there were three listed in the country. One each in Co. Derry, Dublin city and Co. Waterford.

There are quite a few McBeths in Clonleigh parish which may be another possibility.

McBeath / McBeth / McBey....
« Reply #11 on: Wednesday 29 October 08 20:21 GMT (UK) »
Thanks to all who replied to my "where are you Eliza Jane".
Sadly I am not much further ahead and can only hope that by good fortune someone will come across William Greer & Eliza Jane "McBey", possibly through the records of the Ramelton Second Presbyterian Church which is where son John was married.
I have traced one daughter - Annie, and know there was another, but there may have been other children who were not surviving as at january 1900

Thanks

Graeme

More McBeath / McBeth / McBey

On 29 April 1872 Ann McConnell married Thomas Luddington at Manhattan, New York (thank goodness for IGI records).
In 1873 they had a daughter - Eliza Ann Luddington, my gt grandmother.
Ann McConnell's parents are recorded as being John McConnell and Ann McBETH, who I believe to be from Woodtown, Conwall.
Eliza married John Greer at the Ramelton Second Presbyterian Church on 29th October 1888, with Woodtown being given as her place of residence, and adjacent Barrack given for John Greer.
Witnesses to the marriage were John and Eliza McConnell.
John Greer's parents appear to be William Greer and Eliza Jane McBey (McBeath as recorded on John's sister Annie's marriage register)

Who is Ann McBETH, and what if any is her relationship to Eliza Jane McBey (McBeath)?

McNulty - Sligo

McBeath - Donegal
Fletcher - Mull

This appears to be a very old thread but Eliza Grier (nee Mcbey) passed away in 1888 in Ireland (source attached). If you still visit the site, can you please tell me where you found out that William came to NZ after Eliza's passing and any other details you have on him?

Kind Regards,
Jack.
