Hi Carol

Can't find George in 1871 (but that doesn't necessarily mean a lot!)

In 1841, at the Mill, Alvechurch (ref HO107/1199/7 Folio 12 Page 16) we have

George Walden - 25 - M.S. (=male servant) - N (= not born in county)

So that doesn't really help with getting his parents....  ::)

Hi Angela, wow what can i say thank you so much  ;D

With regards the age difference, i have seen age discrepancies before so i will give Banbury a go and see if i can find him. Atleast its a start, so far i could only find a George from Gloucester and that wasn't him.

I thought maybe Harriet had died after having John, which then left it open as to whether or not George may have married again or he passed away before the next census.

Father in law has always said the Walden men didn't live long after their wives passed away and Charles and William Thomas proved that, they died within months of their wives.

The birth record for John looks a big possibility too, so i can look into that also. After years of searching for George looks like we found a long lost Uncle too  ;)

Thanks again
Carol

I'm so pleased you've got something to pursue - I hope the household budget will run to a few more certificates  ;D

Please let us know how you get on.

Certificates have just arrived.

John Waldron is our boy.He was born 2nd February 1850 to George and Harriet.
Harriet Wolding is also our lady. She died 27th March 1850 but at the moment i cant make out what from, looks like infected fever.I am assuming this could be complications from the birth.

The death of a George Waldron however is not my George, but a boy aged 1.

Two out of three wasn't bad. ;D

Hi Carol - that IS good  ;D Wonder where George went though....

The 'infected fever' couldn't possibly be puerperal fever, could it?
