I'm Looking for the birth of Theophilus/Travilas Salvis Bn 1879 from Jamaica....he jumped ship in the UK in 1892/3,

any help would be appreciated,

The only thing I could find was for the surname Salv

The child is just recorded as Salv born 1885, St Catherine, Jamaica

Mother: Mary Salv

There was another entry for Salva (female birth - Arabella 1826 mother: Grace) but nothing for Salvis.

Thanks Tony....

I have his marriage cert which is how we arrived at the date plus the family rumour machine has him as jumping ship when he was 14...which ties in with the appx birth yr we have.... i have a feeling that he may have come from one of the other Islands or just used an assumed name.....!
