Canadian Passenger List shows Andrew born 1890 aged 23 years, travelling Glasgow to Quebec 9 June 1913 on the SS Cassandra. Farmer. (Entered by his name is gone to USA - written across is to brother) Destination Toronto

These 2 are probably unrelated and the list isn't quite in alphabetical order but underneath his name is James PATTERSON aged 34 years and Benjamin PATTERSON aged 25 years. Farm-hands going to Lethbridge. Benjamin had been in Canada 1902 - 1913

There are no James or Benjamins of that age in the Paterson family that I know of does it give any indication where they originate from.Yes Andrew would be a farmer the Pattersons were all of farming stock

No, I don't think they are related, its just cooincidence.

Trouble is no census in Canada after 1911 or 1916 for Saskatchewan, Manitoba - can't see any other entries yet.

I think that Macdonald College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is the Agricultural Division of McGill University.  There is a contact us section on this website and may be worth trying to see if they have any records.
Prof. Ness would have been Andrew's contact there for immigration purposes I'm guessing.

I'm just not finding anything that Sandra hasn't already listed.

Here is a link to Quebec resources (assuming they remained in Quebec).  There may be something useful there.
