*** COMPLETED *** St Phillans Place, East Newport, Forgan, Fife
« on: Tuesday 23 November 10 20:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi RootsChatters

I'm usually pretty good with 'local' street names but I'm stumped with St Phillans Place, East Newport, Parish of Forgan, Fife ... it's quite possibly (and more than likely) St Fillan's.

Anyone have any ideas?  It's from as recently as December 1917 but it doesn't appear on Streetmap :-[

Regards

Well! I've just tried that link and it takes you to Newport Gwent!
So - Google maps - search Newport on Tay - enlarge until you can see the street names - find Cupar Road and William Street - parallel and in between is St Phillan's Lane.

Sorry for the delay in responding but I've been doing some research in the Dundee Library today and have just got back home!

Many thanks for the link.  I know exactly where it is now!  It could be that St Phillan's Place was renamed ... some strange town planning thing no doubt!
