Royal Naval Hospital at Malta
In the Name of God Amen
I Thos Pupllett Quarter Master of Her Majesty's Ship (Steamer) Phoenix now a Patient in
Malta Naval Hospital being of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make this
my last will and testament that is to say I give and bequeath unto my friend Oliver Ash Sailmaker
of Her Majesty's steam ship Phoenix all my clothes bedding and such money belonging to me as may
remain in the hands of the Hospital Agent at Malta and to my Mother Barbara Pupplett living at
No 25 Charles Street St Johns Horsley Town [pretty sure this refers to Horsleydown] London all such wages prize money allowances and other sum
or sums of money as now are or hereafter may be due to me for my service on board the said Ship or any
other ship or vessel of the Royal Navy And do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Oliver Ash aforesaid
Executor and my Mother Barbara Pupplett aforesaid Executrix of this my last will and testament thereby
revoking and making void all other and former wills by me heretofore made and do declare this to be my last
will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of September in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two and in the sixth year of the reign of our
Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen
Defender of the faith - Thos Puplett - Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas
Pupplett as and for his last will and testament in the presence of Doctor William Martin Mr Edwd
Nolloth and Mr John Russell who have hereunto subscribed their names as witnesses in the presence of
each other and of the said Testator on the day of the date above written. Witnesses - William Martin -
Edwd Nolloth - John Russell.
Proved at London 30th Novr 1842 before the Worshipful John ?Danbay Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the
oath of Barbara Richardson (wife of William Richardson formerly Puplett) in the will written Pupplett ?
the Mother one of the executors to whom Adm[inistrati]on was granted having been first sworn duly to administer
power reserved of making the like grant to Oliver Ash the other Executor when he shall apply for the same.
