Hi James.......Its about the best I can do I'm afraid, like Carol said a better result would be if you scan the photo at 300 DPI resolution.

Thanks a lot Carolyn thats great, I am still trying to get this one and one other pic into the right size, even following the tutorial word for word I am still having problems, I understand the max. size is 500kb. max width is 600 pixels and 600dpi is best, however my HP Photosmart Essential 2.5 only allows 200dpi and the file sizes on completion of scanning is > 1.6 gb, trying to crop hasn't worked, but I  want these pics restored/ coloured to surprise my wife so I will eventually get there.
