Any Derby expert there?
« on: Tuesday 12 April 05 10:00 BST (UK) »
Hi! Does anyone know if Sherwood Street was demolished, and if so when?
I would deeply appreciate an old photograph of it if anyone has one..... ;D

Hello, Sherwood St. was demolished around 23 yrs ago or so. It was rebuilt and exists today but in totally different form, with semis replacing the terraced housing.

Thanks for telling me that  :( Now what are the chances of finding someone with a picture of one of the houses pre demolition? No 47 is the one I want but failing that any would be of interest (I am not unreasonable ;D )
Thanks again  :)

Hi, In answer to your photo request, I'm sorry I can't help. I'd think the chances of a discovering photo of a house are fairly slim,as they were nothing out of the ordinary , but then again ??

This may not specifically have your street, but is a good resource for old Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire photos, and is run by the library.

What a brilliant link Suegill! Lots of pictures of Sherwood Street, naturally 47 isn't there - maybe it was demolished earlier but this will certainly give my friend in Mexico a huge thrill :)
