As all of the Barks you mention appear to be missing from the 1841 census, I think we can assume that the whole family are mistranscribed.  :-\

Looked at the whole of Edensor - no sign of Thomas & Ann, however badly transcribed.

The only Barks there are John (aged 60) and Elizabeth (45).
reference HO107, 184, 8/5, 5

I saw them too. There are very few Barks so might they be related?

                Ta for your help.
I have a John Bark 1785 a sibling of Thomas. So that John with
                Elizabeth may well be he.

Eds,
Births, Deaths, Marriages and Obituaries .
The Derby Mercury, Wednesday, March 13, 1844:

Category: Birth, death, marriage notices

Browse Issue | Results for this Issue

They were in Pilsey in 1844, if that's any help, because of this wedding announcement in Derby Mercury.

At Edensor on the 5th inst., by the Rev. R.C. Wilmot, Mr. Richard Woodhead, joiner, to Ann, the youngest daughter of Thomas Bark, all of Pilsey.

Eds,

On the subject of the Bark family, in 1813, a John Bark was assaulted and his attacker, Valentine Wilson, was jailed for the assault for 18 months. John Bark was a gamekeeper for the Duke of Devonshire in the neighbourhood of Edensor. Unfortunately no age of John Bark mentioned.

In 1870, Foot and Mouth disease broke out at John Bark's farm in Pilsey, and later he was sued for £2 for not paying a bill for summer pasturing, but later won a 3rd prize for his foal at the Bakewell Show, but nothing for 1841 census.

Just for good measure , 1854, however another John Bark was a community pest in Bakewell, continually begging at people's doorways and hiding in the bushes. He had done this for 20 years before being committed to prison in that year for a month.

I think part of the Pilsley census 1841 may be missing because, browsing through,  the Pilsley section comes to a very abrupt end.
