Tyas Conisbrough Yorkshire

Hello,

I have an Ann Tyas who married Joseph Appleyard about 1845, she appears in the 1851 census as Ann Appleyard born 1821 in Conisbrough but I can't find her in the 1841 census under her maiden name!

Can you cast an eye over things and see if I'm missing something?

1851 entry shows her as Anne - with an e

By 1841 she would be 20 so unless she is with her parents it may be difficult to determine the right entry

As you will have already seen - there are other entries for that name/birthyear where they were in service elsewhere in Yorkshire

What were her parents names - or just her fathers name.  I can't find any marriage entry for them

Hi All,

I'm descended from the George Appleyard (Josephs uncle).  I have just accessed the birth certificates of the three sons (Frank, Walter and Joseph).  All certificates list the mother as Ann Appleyard (no e) formerly Tyas, resident in Conisbrough.

I also have had no luck finding firm details about the marriage, but have seen reference that they were married in Clitheroe.

Joseph Appleyard and Anne Tyas were my 3G-grandparents.

My great uncle (their great grandson) did a fair bit of reseach on the Appleyards. I have some of his paperwork which shows Anne and Joseph marrying in 1847 at St Peters in Conisbrough, her parents Joseph and Hannah (nee Lambert).

I have also been unable to find Ann in the 1841, but I don't know when her parents died. There is a "spare" Ann Tyas working as a House Servant in Dewsbury, but I have no idea if this is the right one!

Are you closely related to this couple? I have a few photos for anyone interested.

I'm decended from Joseph's brother George, but rather than just looking up my direct ancestors, I am also trying to get an picture about the whole Conisbrough Appleyard family at the time.
I would be very interested in any pictures or information that your Great Uncle found.

I think we may have already "spoken" in Ancestry? I had a couple of photos of Joseph & George's graves?

I also have some photos from my great uncle of Joseph & Ann (Tyas) plus a few other members of the family; I think I will have to upload them to my Photobucket page, and I'll send you a link!
