National Burial Index
« on: Thursday 03 June 04 03:29 BST (UK) »
Hi All,  ;D
Can anyone help me with the following -

when an ancestor appears on the NBI can any further information be found by applying to the relevant archives?

Or would it be -  name, age, date of death and location as appears on the Index?

its always worth asking as some were family graves the vicar may have also put in notes ie person who paid or undertaker they might have also done mon inscrits for that church and if they have yours it could mention other family ie wife of son of ect the way i look at it dont enquire dont find anything else
good hunting

Hi there Den  ;D

I really appreciate that information. I wasn't sure if I was being ridiculous sending for details I already knew!

I should have known better as this week I received marrige details from Lincolnshire Archives and learned that my 3rd G-Grandfather had been married twice which set me off on a new trail.

It's great to be able to ask advice and receive an answer so promptly.
Thanks again Den.
