Lloydy.....

if you don't get fixed up with a translation , before the night is over,
I have e-mailed a Welsh friend, and asked him what it means...

He may be still up, he is, like we all are , addicted!!!

If not I'm sure he will be in touch tomorrow....

Meanwhile, if any one else knows the answer...do tell!!

(if it turns out to be rude...I'll PM you)

This is my rough and ready translation, I may well be wrong:

"faithful without death, I gave to you the the crown of the living."

It's the beginning "Bydd ffyddlawn hyd angau" ('faithful without death') is the bit I'm not sure about, sorry.

Actually I'll change the last bit (if I may) to "I will give you the the crown of the living."

I think it's may the verse where Jesus turn to on of the thieves during the crucifixion.

Found it!!!!

The last bit of Revelations 2:10:

In English:

"Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life"

NRSV Rev 2:10

Thank you very much Trystan ;D :D  You are a mind of information ;)

It was actually taken from the headstone of my GGG Grandparents, who are buried in Llanidloes (Powys).
