Ottawa Beechwood Cemetery Registry has

Emma Fowler, born England, died in Denver, Colorado, aged 65, date of death April 3 1919

Samuel E Fowler, born England, died in Denver, Colorado, aged 88 years 7 months and 2 days, date of death Sept 18 1938.  He was an accountant.

RK

Looks like it was the ashes that were buried.

Thank you for all this information. Sorry i didn't reply earlier, I must have missed the notification of a reply. I think if John Fowler (b 1799) had died in Canada, he would be buried with his wife and family. The family seem very close.

Beechwood Cemetery was apparently only opened in 1873. Perhaps John might have been buried in this Sandy Hill Cemetery…

https://www.ash-acs.ca/history/sandy-hill-cemeteries/

The second page of the Beechwood record posted above by Sandra for Emma and Samuel has their plot location. The record for Elizabeth (died 1892) has the same location. Elizabeth’s residence is given as Colorado in the record (same street address as other records if I remember correctly).

Find a Grave has a John Fowler listed in Beechwood with no birth or burial date info. I wonder if this might be your John and he was moved to the cemetery as in the link? I wonder if the cemetery might be able to tell you if he is buried in the same Plot?

Anyway, food for thought.

Thank you for the information about Sandy Hill. If he was originally buried there and his remains later moved to Beechwood, he could be the John Fowler with no dob or dod information.
