Valentine Edward Wilson

My relative Valentine Edward Wilson was born in the West Derby District of Liverpool Lancashire iin the January Quarter of 1869.I have so far failed to find any further records for him in England.

However I have noticed in the 1900 Census living in Cook Chicago Illinois a Valentine Wilson whose Birth is given as February 1869 in England and whose immigration year is said to be 1890.He is shown with Wife Caroline given as born in Germany.They are shown with children and in every Census year up to 1930.One drawback on this is that I can't find Valentine on any passenger list.

Can someone give me a surname for this Caroline please?

There are Cook County [Chicago] marriages, births and deaths at family search.  I don't recall the range of years.

Hello William,

There is a Valentine Edward Wilson born 1869 seems to appear on the 1871 UK Census and 1881 UK Census (72 Bourne Street. West Derby. Liverpool) with parents Charles and Elizabeth/Betsey in Liverpool. Lancashire. Could that be the one you are looking for in the UK

Thanks Sandra,I have seen the 1871 and 1881 Census entries.Yes Valentine Edward was the son of Charles Wilson born in Overton Flintshire in c 1836 and his wife Elizabeth Williams born in Ruthin Denbighshire in c 1840.

Valentine E. Wilson & Caroline Butz were married 8 May 1894 in Cook Co.  http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/marriage.html

On the site erato mentioned, there is a possible Illinois death record for your Valentine (however, it lists him as born 14 Feb 1869 in Snowden, Wales, son of William Wilson, born Liverpool) and a birth record for Valentine Christopher Wilson, son of Valentine Edmund Wilson (born Liverpool) & Carrie Butz.

Is his date of emigration constantly given as 1890 on the various censuses?  I find these dates can jump around a lot.
