Dann surname within Strover/Hardy family
« on: Thursday 09 December 10 22:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to find any information about how the Dann surname came to be given to my ancester Hester 'Dann' Strover born 1775 in Gillingham, Kent. Her parents were Mary 'Dudley' Rogers and John 'Searle' Strover, both of these middle surnames come from their mothers maiden names.

So somewhere in further back in this tree there must be a link to the Danns. Where they might be from or how they link in is a mystery we would very much like to solve, so any knowledge would be gratefully received and I'd be delighted to share info if helpful! Thanks

To anyone interested, I have now found this document from c.1782 putting the Strovers and Danns as major landowners/occupiers in Gillingham. (Copy and paste link)
