William was recorded as being 25 years of age when he married Mary Ann Lock at St Mary's Portsea on 14 July 1857.  Perhaps this is his birth?
17 May 1831 - christened 12 June 1831 at St Mary's, Marylebone

Yes this is the family...

i found some of them in 1881 census in the work house if its the right people
