Edward Dowling B 1864 Fairyground - Parents?

Hi
I wonder if any one has any thing that might reveal Edward Dowlings parents please?
He married 2 June 1892 Cheshire to Beatrice Waters.
I shall be ordering his M Cert but thought some kind folk in here may be able to offer some info on his parentage /baptism?

do you mean Fairymount?

The Irish census has this family in 1901. They seem to be the only Dowlings in Fairmount.

1864 is the start of civil registration of births in Ireland. In theory if he was born 1864 or later there should be a birth certificate (although man births were not registered in the early years) but if before 1864 then you would need church records (if they exist) to find a baptism which would hopefully list names of both parents (some only list father's name or mother's Christian name).
The civil registration index is on-line and you could check if he is listed. IGI (International Genealogical Index) at www.familysearch.org also has some extracted Irish births 1864-c1882 and a section of LDS Pilot site also has extracted Irish births 1864-c1881. However, the confirmation of his father's name from the marriage certificate would help to confirm any results you find in these sources.

Family search has details of children born to Patrick Dowling and Ellen Shaugnessy including a Michael who may fit with the one in 1901. The registration district is Ballyleague which also fits.
