John Hughes born Glan Conway 1845
« on: Friday 24 December 10 17:15 GMT (UK) »
Am I right to assume that Glan Conway was in  Caernarvonshire  in 1845?     What were the boundaries of Glan Conway  registration  district in 1845, please?

I would be grateful  for any information please.

Hello again.
No certificates arrived in todays post, so more information should arrive late next week or in early January.

John Hughes got married  in 1873 in West Derby reg district of Lancashire.

I think you are right, though,  that the county was the old Denbighshire.   When the records office opens after the New year, I will try and pop  in there and see there old maps and records.

I wonder why he was shown as a lodger?   Perhaps his mother had died either in childbirth or subsequently.

That could be him, I will have to see if I can get more clues from anywhere.

The parish of Llansanffraid Glan Conway was County of Denbigh.   Genuki has more information and maps http://www.genuki.co.uk/big/wal/DEN/LlansanffraidGlanConwy/index.html
