Finding an expat
« on: Monday 27 December 10 12:30 GMT (UK) »
I have been visiting Thailand on and off for 40 years and even lived there for a while. Since researching my family tree, I was advised by a relative that a first cousin whom I had been seeking for quite some time, had been living in Thailand for over 20 years. I could have passed him in the street or sat near him in a bar!. Small world. Now I am keen to make contact with him but need some clues as to where to find such information. I am well aware of the privacy issue but am looking for suggestions as to how to proceed. I have posted a message on a couple of expat web sites without success. The guy is 65 years old and may not be computer literate. I sent an email to the British Consulate in Bangkok but they have privacy issues and can only pass on a message - if he contacts them. Is there anyone with experience in such matters in Thailand, that can help me?
