1876 will?
« on: Saturday 01 January 11 11:25 GMT (UK) »
My gg grandmother, Rebecca Taylor, died in 1876 in Burnham Thorpe. How can I find out if she left a will?

Have a look in NOAH - very good - and you should be able to find it via Google :)
Norfolk ancient Heritage?

Let me know if you cant find it - it allows to to keep clicking until you see the actual handwritten texts

Wills after 1858 were proved nationally and there are indexes to the calendars available online on Ancestry (subscription required).  The wills themselves are not viewable online, but you can send for a copy of the will and grant of probate (if they exist) from HM Court Service in York.

Have a look at this page for further information:

Thanks Esdel, I checked NOAH but it doesn't seem to go to 1876.

Thanks, Little Nell, I just checked on Ancestry but my AUS subscription doesn't cover those records. Thanks also for the link - useful if I can find if there was a will or not :-)
